India is a Business Development Manager at Argenta Private Capital Ltd (APCL), having joined in January 2023 from a venture capital firm InReach Ventures.
About
Prior to this, India worked in business development for an independent investment firm Albion Capital, specialising in Venture Capital Trusts. India started her career as a parliamentary assistant for amongst others, former Chancellor of the Exchequer, The Rt Hon George Osborne CH. At APCL, India is responsible for leading on marketing (including sector specific marketing campaigns and other profile-raising initiatives and events), and business development planning, including managing marketing budgets, identifying and capitalising on business development opportunities and identifying and maximising strategic partnerships. She has studied, lived and worked in the UK and France and is fluent in English and French.
What services do you provide?
Argenta Private Capital (APCL) is a specialist capital adviser in Lloyd’s insurance market, advising over 500 individual and corporate investors, who currently support over £4.5bn gross written premium. We consult with our clients over their risk appetite and expected return profile and build a portfolio of syndicates that meets their needs. We connect our clients, typically HNW and UHNW individuals, with the best performing syndicates at Lloyd’s, in a similar way to investment managers with their clients. APCL offers a full service that is tailored to our clients: from onboarding and structuring advice, to helping them choose their syndicates, managing their Lloyd's portfolio and providing them with in-house tax and accounting advice.
Describe your role
My role is to develop and maintain relationships and much of this is done through marketing publications and online content. India has recently taken over the marketing strategy for APCL carefully, creating a library of different content to create diversity, notably filming clips from APCL employees.
What does Dura mean to you?
Having worked in venture capital, I’m acutely aware of the considerable gap that still exists in venture capital funding between men and women. According to Pitchbook, in 2022 only 2.1% of the total capital invested in venture-backed startups went to women. This kind of disparity is needs to change, especially when there's a plethora of talented women-led businesses that are contributing significantly to our economy. Encouragingly though, organisations like the Dura Society are bridging this gap and empowering women to become successful financial leaders and entrepreneurs. Women are starting businesses at an unprecedented rate and require the kind of financial, social and emotional support that the Dura Society provides.
