About
I am known for my calm and empathetic approach and work with each client to craft a bespoke strategy factoring in the specific needs of each client including their own wellbeing. I chair Resolution’s specialist committee for Pensions, Tax and Financial Remedy and have particular expertise in dealing with financial cases involving dynastic wealth held in trust and corporate structures, including advising on prenuptial agreements before people marry. Many of my cases are resolved outside the traditional court process but the focus is on ensuring the right process for the right person. In addition to the financial side of relationship breakdown, I work with clients to resolve high conflict disputes in relation to their children with a specific emphasis on cases involving the relocation of children internationally and within the UK.
Case study
I represented the wife in divorce proceedings in which the majority of the wealth was held in dynastic tax structures on the husband’s side. Attempts to resolve matters outside the court were made difficult by the husband’s approach to the financial disclosure and high court proceedings were required, in which trustees were joined to the proceedings. Ultimately the case settled in the weeks before the final hearing resulting in a substantial sum being paid outright to my client in order to fund the purchase of an appropriate property for her and their children and to provide her with sufficient income to fund her lifestyle in the longer term.
