I am the co-founder of an Impact Consultancy which supports individuals and families develop and enhance strategies for giving to maximise engagement and compound impact.

About Jo

A belief that giving can be more effective precipitated the founding of Benesys and continues to underpin our work. Our model is grounded in financial principles, influenced by my international banking career, as one of the first female International Managers at HSBC. I have over a decade of experience in building, developing and managing business relationships and an ability to operate within specific parameters while remaining solutions-oriented and creative. I value good communication and transparency, considering them key to building trust and sustainable relationships.

When not at work I enjoy fly fishing - for the tenacity and patience it requires, Kareoke for the thrill it elicits and dancing to old school house music – because it's fun!

Following the successful sale of a business, Benesys was formally engaged to assist in the development of a philanthropic strategy for a client that would align with her values and desire to be actively involved. Essential to this client’s brief was the requirement for an ‘educational component’ which would inform and guide her in every aspect of our process so that she would feel well equipped to run her own philanthropy at the right time. As part of our bespoke service, we tailored our offering to include an instructional framework to run alongside the core development work. We delivered sessions on our proprietary charity risk assessment and due diligence process, educational research on sectors of interest, introductions to topic specialists as well as impact evaluation briefings and guidance on impact reporting.

What makes you want to be part of The Dura Society?

On a personal level, I am looking forward to the stimulation of engaging and meeting new people across different themes, in well curated scenarios. Having studied and worked aboard for over half of my life, I relish the opportunity to continue to connect with an international and varied community. I am hopeful that attending events, workshops, and webinars will broaden my knowledge in certain areas, as well as offering potential to learn new ideas and perspectives. I hope to share insights of Impact and how Benesys works in the philanthropic space and will welcome the opportunity to partner and collaborate, as appropriate. I am particularly keen to gain a broader understanding of how to make giving and philanthropy generally, a more appealing proposition to younger wealth holders, establishing in greater detail the particular challenges or barriers they face.
