Kate is a Chartered Security Professional with 25 years of frontline private client facing experience in the Private and Family Office sector as a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, Chief of Staff and Family Office Manager, moving on to becoming a frontline Close Protection (CP) Operative, and finally using this combines unique experience as a Secure Lifestyle Advisor as CEO & Founder of UMBRA International Group – a business on a mission to make security and the industry more accessible and make the world a safer place. She regularly speaks, especially on the topic of Invisible Security, having been asked to deliver a Tedx talk in 2018. She was shortlisted as Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year in the Citywealth awards in 2019, and the Security Institute’s 2021 Award for Services to the Security Sector, and CEO Monthly’s CEO of the year in 2023.
About Kate
Kate is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a Companion of the Institute of Leadership and Management. She sits on the British Army Gender Advisory Council and is a Liveryman of the City of London. She is a Trustee of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals Charitable Trust, delivering grants and funding around the theme ‘Kindness In Security’, and also is a Trustee of the Hypatia Foundation, which focusses on gender impact philanthropy.
Kate is an ambassador for the Veteran charities ‘Supporting Wounded Veterans’ and ‘Veterans Aid’. She has a personal interest in making an impact in the areas of reduction of violence against women and girls and sits as the Co-Chair of the Clapham Safer Neighborhood Panel to support public / private partnership working in the community.

We offer holistic security both proactively, (including as a subscription via UMBRA+) and also for clients who come to us in a crisis.
From support to our clients looking for vetted screened security (and other household, estate, private & family office staff), to advice and project management across the 4 Pillars. We have built a reputation not only working with clients coming to security for the first time but also those who have historically 'had security' but are looking to understand where the best of traditional risk management adjusts to a modern secure lifestyle approach. Projects and services can range from home & travel security, to IT and Cyber reviews, to ongoing reputational and privacy concerns as well as health crises that need to be handled sensitively affecting our clients sense of risk resilience and overall safety.

I've known the Dura Founder, Lottie Leefe, from the inception of Dura and have followed her journey growing the business since the pandemic and hugely respect what she has built. Dura is a business whose name is as thoughtful as it is directly relevant to their services - (with high respect, as UMBRA also has a similar amount of care and attention in terms of meaning and service provision link!).
