About Olivia

I joined Brown Advisory in 2021 as a portfolio analyst, following 4.5 years at Rothschild & Co. where I implemented trading strategies for UHN clients.

I began my Brown Advisory career as a generalist on the Private Client team, supporting multiple portfolio managers and building bespoke portfolios for individuals, families, trusts, and charities. In the last 2.5 years, my focus has been investing for clients with complex tax status’, particularly those who are connected to the U.S. Our goals with these clients are to ensure the complexity of their tax status doesn’t negatively impact portfolio returns, and to make decisions that allow for flexibility around; future relocation, gifting and estate planning.

Outside of my role as an associate portfolio manager, I am co-leader of Brown Advisory Academy. We deliver financial education workshops, visits schools and universities, and offers work experience to young people ages 16-25 with the aim of improving financial literacy, as well as increasing diversity within our industry.

I have completed the IMC and am currently studying for my CFA 3 exam. I graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in English Literature.

Please describe a recently completed project or case, or tell us about the bespoke services that you offer:

We believe in putting the client first by creating bespoke solutions to meet our clients’ investment goals, whilst maintaining a deep understanding of their personal circumstances. We limit the number of client relationships we manage to facilitate strong bonds and deliver a personalized service. By utilizing our in-house fund solutions and leveraging our expertise, we can translate our best thinking into client-tailored portfolios that align with various tax jurisdictions, trust structures, estate planning and philanthropy.

We are active within professional networks and consistently in contact with the firms and individuals who support our clients in non-investment capacities. This enables us to maintain a level of broader knowledge outside of our immediate fiduciary duties and offer our clients solid suggestions of people we think provide an outstanding service in a range of industries.

What does Dura mean to you?

To me, Dura represents strength, grit, and agility. Strength is often associated with ‘hardness’ or ‘rigidity’, but I believe there is greater strength in being able to pivot, reimagine and innovate. If you stay light on your toes and open to change you’ll be undefeatable.
