About
Brown Advisory is an employee-owned, independent global investment management firm who puts clients first. Managing over $150 billion in assets, we create bespoke, multi-asset solutions tailored to the unique needs of Private Clients, Charities, Endowments and Foundations. In parallel, we offer specialised institutional investment strategies in US Equities, Global Equities, Global Fixed Income, private investment strategies combined with a deep-rooted commitment to sustainable investing. Because of our private ownership and low staff turnover we are able to take a long-term view which fosters alignment of interests, deep-rooted relationships and has led to exceptional investment results.
We create bespoke portfolios that are tailored to a client’s individual goals and concentrated in our best investment thinking, which includes Brown Advisory’s strategies and third-party managers.
What services do you provide?
From a Private Client perspective, we create bespoke portfolios that are tailored to a client’s individual goals and concentrated in our best investment thinking, which includes Brown Advisory’s strategies and third-party managers. Additionally, we regularly review our clients' goals and can adapt portfolios as and when needs change. Clients also have access to our in-house strategic advisors, who provide holistic, non-investment-related advice on topics such as trust structures, estate, and philanthropy planning.
From an Institutional perspective, we offer a wide range of active investment strategies and provide reporting and other services that are tailored to each client's needs. Our relationship management team is highly experienced, and many of our relationship managers have long tenures at Brown Advisory. They keep our clients abreast of performance results, portfolio activity, and the investment team’s latest thinking; they also proactively leverage Brown Advisory’s resources to deliver optimal service.
Education is a centre pillar at Brown Advisory. We offer clients a range of structured and bespoke education programmes, which are combined with multiple-speaker evenings held in our office. Each year, we host a two-day course in our London office called ‘Money Matters: A Crash Course in Savings and Investment’. The course, aimed at those in the 18 to 25 age group, introduces participants to the basics of investment, tax, tax-efficient saving, pensions, and financial planning.
Without a doubt, our most valuable asset is our people. Our colleagues think, create, and perform to deliver a differentiated and successful experience for our clients. Our mission is to make a material and positive difference in the lives of our clients.
What does Dura mean to you?
The word ‘Dura’ aligned with my thoughts on resilience and determination. The best things in life don’t come easy, you have to be prepared to work hard to achieve them. It reminded me of a line from the television series Ted Lasso, which suggests that facing a challenge is akin to horseback riding – if it feels easy, you're likely not doing it correctly.
